You can make your own comic strip by clicking and then adding in your speech. I thought CB and RB might enjoy having a go. When you have finished you could email it to your school email. Then we can place these on your class blog.<br />
Looking forward to seeing some comic strips.<br />
To place in a blog, print screen into word, then crop and enlarge, copy and paste into paint programme and save. They can then be uploaded into a blog or web page as a picture.<br />

We chose pictures about water as ice, liquid and gas. Then we put our voices on using the Easispeak microphone.<br />
We thought about colours and added our sounds to our poster. We hope you enjoy it.<br />

We discovered an awful lot about a packet of lollipops. This included: which was the most common shape of lollipop, what was the most popular lollipop flavour, and what was the most common colour of lollipop found in one packet. YES! We did get to eat one too. It was such a busy maths lesson. My challenge for you is to look at the information in the graphs and make statements about what you have found out. e.g. What is the least favourite flavour in our class? What do you notice about the number of shapes we found in the packet? How many different things can you tell me? I'd love to hear about what you've learned.</div></div><br /><br /><br /><br /><div style="MARGIN: auto; WIDTH: 460px; VISIBILITY: visible"><embed style="WIDTH: 460px; HEIGHT: 350px" height="350" name="stats twister" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" align="middle" width="460" src="http://flash.picturetrail.com/pflicks/3/spflick.swf" quality="high" flashvars="ql=2&src1=http://pic90.picturetrail.com:80/VOL2192/12898976/flicks/1/8219196" wmode="transparent" bgcolor="#000000" allowscriptaccess="sameDomain"></embed><br /><p style="MARGIN-TOP: 10px; WIDTH: 460px; HEIGHT: 24px; whitespace: no-wrap"><a href="http://www.picturetrail.com/misc/counter.fcgi?cID=924&link=/photoFlick/samples/pflicks=shtml"><img border="0" align="left" src="http://pics.picturetrail.com/res/pflicks/pt.gif" /></a><a href="http://www.picturetrail.com/misc/counter.fcgi?cID=925&link=/photoFlick/samples/pflicks=shtml"><img style="MARGIN-LEFT: 5px" border="0" align="left" src="http://pics.picturetrail.com/static/images/pt2.gif" /></a></p></div>Mrs Rhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00529893008230526184noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8832650477800853177.post-83507607611829413142010-05-20T17:15:00.000-07:002010-05-21T12:16:00.002-07:00Fun Statistics with Smarties.<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFuwVvse-YXUXhxMUvQWWBqkf-LiivoH9rLwOuPCaJmJ25Y0FI6ZjTH4htjxYtaTwOvYFCWzJvA3FstbOUKnXCjc7xlLmE7a1cXl4YsgPFUvJnR_4KoWcWcjxgVYPFN5WHve5oy4xJgVc/s1600/Kiwikids+Maths+Graph.PNG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" gu="true" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFuwVvse-YXUXhxMUvQWWBqkf-LiivoH9rLwOuPCaJmJ25Y0FI6ZjTH4htjxYtaTwOvYFCWzJvA3FstbOUKnXCjc7xlLmE7a1cXl4YsgPFUvJnR_4KoWcWcjxgVYPFN5WHve5oy4xJgVc/s320/Kiwikids+Maths+Graph.PNG" width="450" /></a></div><br />
The Kiwikids Maths Class had an exciting maths lesson on Statistics. Our inquiry was: What is the most common colour in a small pack of 'Smarties'.<br />
We each moved the lollies into a bar graph on paper and found that each group had different results. Mrs R asked us to find out: What was the most common colour? What was the least common colour? How many Smarties did our pack have altogether? How many colours in our box? Look at our graph can you read which colour was the most common colour across the whole class?<br />
<br />
Yummy, we got to eat them all at the end.<br />

Room 10 had a great time with our buddy class Room 17. With a focus on New Zealand authors, we chose to share the book "As Kuku Slept" by Erin Devlin. Although the story is fiction, it is based on the plight of the Kereru which is now an endangered bird species in New Zealand due to pests like possums, rats and stoats. Erin Devlin makes puppets and we decided to create our own versions of a range of native birds and possums and had so much doing it. We thoroughly recommend this book to everyone. Get a copy from your library and read the story and get the facts! We hope you like our slideshow.<br /><br /><div style="visibility:visible;width:540px;margin:auto;"><embed src="http://flash.picturetrail.com/pflicks/3/spflick.swf" quality="high" FlashVars="ql=2&src1=http://pic90.picturetrail.com:80/VOL2192/12898976/flicks/1/8157013" wmode="transparent" bgcolor="#000000" width="540" height="410" name="Puppets for Book Week" align="middle" allowScriptAccess="sameDomain" style="height:410px;width:540px" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"></embed><br /><p style="whitespace:no-wrap;margin-top:10px;height:24px;width:540px"><a href="http://www.picturetrail.com/misc/counter.fcgi?cID=924&link=/photoFlick/samples/pflicks=shtml"><img align="left" src="http://pics.picturetrail.com/res/pflicks/pt.gif" border="0" /></a><a href="http://www.picturetrail.com/misc/counter.fcgi?cID=925&link=/photoFlick/samples/pflicks=shtml"><img align="left" style="margin-left:5px" src="http://pics.picturetrail.com/static/images/pt2.gif" border="0" /></a></p><br /></div>Mrs Rhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00529893008230526184noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8832650477800853177.post-68926147040295939902010-04-18T23:10:00.000-07:002010-04-18T23:15:51.558-07:00Water WordsTo begin our unit on Water Conservation we created words about water. We learned about Onomatopoeia and the sounds water makes. For homework we made our words. Some of us used the computer and some designed them free-hand. We enjoyed it so much that we all used "Word Art" in the classroom to create a lot more. We think they look great on our "Waterfall of Words" display in our room. Can you think of any more?<br /><br /><div style="visibility:visible;width:460px;margin:auto"><embed src="http://flash.picturetrail.com/pflicks/3/spflick.swf" quality="high" FlashVars="ql=2&src1=http://pic90.picturetrail.com/VOL2192/12898976/flicks/1/8133191" wmode="transparent" bgcolor="#000000" width="460" height="350" name="liquid" align="middle" allowScriptAccess="sameDomain" style="height:350px;width:460px" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"></embed><br /><p style="whitespace:no-wrap;margin-top:10px;height:24px;width:460px"><a href="http://www.picturetrail.com/misc/counter.fcgi?link=%2FphotoFlick%2Fsamples%2Fpflicks%3Dshtml&cID=924"><img align="left" src="http://pics.picturetrail.com/res/pflicks/pt.gif" border="0"></a><a href="http://www.picturetrail.com/misc/counter.fcgi?link=%2FphotoFlick%2Fsamples%2Fpflicks%3Dshtml&cID=925"><img align="left" style="margin-left:5px" src="http://pics.picturetrail.com/static/images/pt2.gif" border="0"></a></p></div>Mrs Rhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00529893008230526184noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8832650477800853177.post-35872267270887749872010-04-17T21:39:00.001-07:002010-06-13T06:29:04.595-07:00Volcanic Eruption in Iceland<object width="220" height="90"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/f1ztg0wUqKY&hl=en_US&fs=1&" /><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" /><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/f1ztg0wUqKY&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="320" height="400"></embed></object><br /><br />This eruption has caused lots of problems for air travel because of the ash in the air.
