Book Week Buddies

In the first week of term 2, it was BOOK WEEK! Room 10 had a great time with our buddy class Room 17. With a focus on New Zealand authors, we chose to share the book "As Kuku Slept" by Erin Devlin. Although the story is fiction, it is based on the plight of the Kereru which is now an endangered bird species in New Zealand due to pests like possums, rats and stoats. Erin Devlin makes puppets and we decided to create our own versions of a range of native birds and possums and had so much doing it. We thoroughly recommend this book to everyone. Get a copy from your library and read the story and get the facts! We hope you like our slideshow.

Wow your puppets are absolutely fantastic. I wish I had made one! I really enjoyed watching your slideshow, you chose some neat effects. Your descrtive writing for your puppets was fabulous as well. It was interesting that some puppets were tricky to make. Maybe next time you might like to use photostory or voicethread so you can record some audio as well?
